Kathy Carrier, owner and CEO of Briljent LLC, was honored by the Indianapolis Chapter of NAWBO (National Association of Woman Business Owners) as the Woman Business owner of the Year! Ms. Carrier was nominated for this honor by Indianapolis based Eli Lilly and Company.
The award application addressed Ms. Carrier's excellence as a woman business owner, her initiative & creativity in overcoming obstacles in her business, her support of the efforts of other women business owners, and her commitment to civic and community involvement.
Ms. Carrier firmly believes the Calvin Coolidge quote, read during the awards luncheon, embodies her spirit and her company’s soul.

This quote describes Kathy's commitment to the growth of her business, her employees, civic engagement, and her fellow woman business owners.
Briljent LLC, is a certified woman-owned business that provides key services to national trade associations, governmental agencies and corporate clients in the areas of technical writing and documentation, curriculum design, learning assessments, staff augmentation and training facilitation. In 2003, Briljent capitalized on an opportunity made available through new state legislation allowing them to build relationships, knowledge and contracts at the state level. This strategy resulted in nearly 40 contracts in two years.
After a two-year focused effort, Briljent also became certified as an 8(a) and Small Disadvantaged Business with the U.S. Small Business Administration in June 2004.
